Lindsey Hale

Data Science Lead

Before joining The Lab, Lindsey was a lead Data Science Instructor at the Flatiron School. In addition to the day-to-day work of instructing students on a myriad of data science-related subjects – including Python and its libraries, Git and GitHub, SQL and NoSQL database queries, data visualization tools, statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, time series, and deep learning – Lindsey spearheaded several process-improving initiatives including consolidating teaching materials into a centralized “single source of truth” that enabled the automation of redundant administrative tasks.

At The Lab, Lindsey has honed her skills in harmonizing and standardizing incoming data from any number of systems or database tables during the initial extract-transform-load (ETL) process to enable real-time business intelligence. She is skilled at unpacking and explaining deeply technical concepts to the average user and translating business needs into technical requirements. Her specialty is in designing and customizing future state workflows that enable iterative progress towards an idealized but achievable end goal.

Lindsey is the go-to resource for quick data analysis in Python and is known for taking on the projects that break the mold and expand The Lab’s capabilities. But be warned – she’ll happily talk your ear off and get way too technical about cutting-edge AI topics or the latest Power BI data engineering features, and there’s a high likelihood her cat will walk in front of the camera while she’s working from home.
